DIY Friday {Pumpkin Spice Coffee Syrup}

ITs officially FALL! I am officially obsessed! I love fall and everything pumpkin. This week I found a reciepe for some pumpkin spice syrup and fell in love and thought I should share it with all of you! I am probably going to make some pumpkin spice muffins today to go with my pumpkin spice coffee this morning! So Good! 

Alright here is how you make it:

What you need:

-3/4 cups water

-3/4 cup brown sugar 

-1/4 cup pumpkin puree

-1 tsp cinnamon

-1/2 tsp nutmeg

-3 dash of ground clove


How To:

1. Combine water and brown sugar into a small saucepan and stir until the sugar is dissolved

 

 

2. Add pumpkin (i like pumpkin so I took the 1/4 cup measurement lightly) and all the spices. Let simmer for about 5 minutes

3. Strain through a wire mesh strainer to separate the thickness. Be patient here and don't force it through. 

4. Brew some strong coffee, unless you are fancy and have an espresso machine in which case you should make some espresso.  You can store your syrup in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks in the fridges! 

5. Now that you have some strong coffee, heat up some milk, I used some vanilla almond milk and then frothed it with my hand frother! After that combine the coffee and milk and then 1 or 2 tbs of your pumpkin syrup and top with some pumpkin pie spice if you have it handy!

 (WARNING: the syrup is syrup, like really sweet, so if you are like me and cutting back on sugar use only 1 tbs it is still tasty! )

Oh and if you are wondering about those pumpkin muffins...its so easy its 1 box of spice cake mix and 1 can of pumpkin! YUM YUM! Happy Fall...aka Happy Pumpkin Season!
